Wonderful as Always! by Mandy12 on 07/26/2009
We visited Jamesport Vineyards yesterday for the first time since last summer. Once again we were not disappointed! Not only is the wine delicious, the atmosphere is extremely friendly. We had lunch at the Jamesport Manor Inn then visited Martha Clara (great atmosphere, wine not so great)...then our driver made a BIG mistake and pulled into CLOVIS...we figured we would stop for a quick taste before landing at Jamesport. There were 4 adults and two children. Apparently the owner (CLOVIS) had a big problem with the fact we hadn't made an appointment for our limo. Um, we were the ONLY people in the tasting room at the time, so honestly why make a stink. Guess she thinks she is recession proof and her attitude is OK because her wine is so terrific...WRONG! We left after insisting we get our money back and after I got to tell her that she was really a B(word) and she should get over herself. This place is extremely pretentious...PASS CLOVIS by and head to Jamesport Vineyard, the wine is better, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.
A Simple Charm by northcork on 04/25/2006
The winery at Jamesport Vineyards has the feel of the old North Fork. As you make your way into the tasting room, there are several artifacts of antique wine making to see. After ordering a flight of their whites, we grabbed a picnic table outside and listened to the live band (there's live music every weekend during the summer). Jamesport had a simple charm to it not unlike the North Fork region itself.
